Privacy policy
Screenshot Zero
Effective date: February 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Screenshot Zero is developed by Byte Labs to help you organize screenshots safely. This privacy policy explains what information stays on your device, how it is handled exclusively within the app, and the controls you have when using the app.
By using Screenshot Zero you agree to this policy as of the effective date listed below.
2. Data We Process
Screenshot Zero analyzes limited information strictly for identifying screenshots inside your local photo library. All image handling and metadata processing occur inside the app on your device and never leave it.
- Screenshot image data processed locally in temporary memory to determine whether an item is likely a screenshot.
- File metadata such as filename, creation date, and album so you can sort and review results.
- User decisions (keep or delete) stored locally on your device to honor undo and history actions.
- No personal data is uploaded and no personal data leaves the app.
3. How Processing Occurs
All scanning, classification, and deletion operations occur entirely within the Screenshot Zero app installed on your device. The app does not transmit media, thumbnails, metadata, analytics, or diagnostic logs to Byte Labs servers or third parties.
Temporary working data is purged automatically once scanning completes or the app is closed.
4. Your Controls and Deletion
You have complete control over every file the app suggests removing. Nothing is deleted automatically—items move to your system trash or Recently Deleted folder only after you confirm.
If you uninstall the app, all local preferences and cached scan data are removed as part of the standard operating system uninstall process.
5. Security and Retention
Because data never leaves your device, storage and encryption are handled by the security features of your operating system (such as device encryption or biometric locks). No copies are sent to cloud services operated by Byte Labs or third parties.
Screenshot Zero does not create its own remote backups or logs. Files you delete follow the retention rules of your photo library (for example, remaining in Recently Deleted for a limited time).
6. Children's Privacy
Screenshot Zero is not directed to children under the age specified by local data protection laws. The app does not collect or transmit personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If Byte Labs materially changes how Screenshot Zero handles data, we will update this page and adjust the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact
Questions about this policy or Screenshot Zero's privacy practices can be sent to info@bytelabs.se. We will respond from Monday–Friday CET and never request access to your photo library.
